The studio

Kōbō collective was created to bridge the gap between learning the fundamentals and becoming fluent in ceramics. The name kōbō comes from the Japanese word for “maker’s studio” or “artisans workshop”. Kōbō Collective is intentionally community-focused—a shared, production-limit-free, 24/7 access studio that serves as a true third space for artists deeply committed to their craft. It’s a place to refine skills, exchange knowledge, and support one another’s creative growth.

Beyond being a working studio, Kōbō Collective also functions as a gathering place for the broader creative community, hosting events and collaborating with other small businesses in town to foster connection.

Kōbō Collective and its 12 resident artists are located in a large, high-ceiling industrial warehouse with bay doors, a cozy loft and abundant natural light — centrally located in Rock Bay.
